I seek simple things, get mushy soon and feel good at various times of the day. It is very easy for me to get pleased. Past 24 hours have been simply awesome.
We were invited to attend 3 weddings on Saturday ,morning, after noon and night., at various parts of the city. We attended the morning one, came home tired, skipped the afternoon, and were getting ready for the night one, when it started pouring . Not a right mood to travel to another end of the city 25 k.m. or more , with fine clothes and jewelery. But a friend offered a lift ,and driven by her son expertly in the pouring rain over ditches of Hyderabad, reached the venue late.We were self-conscious, and dishellved, but were welcomed by the gathering cheerfully.
I met many of my friends , and someone whom I had lost contact over 16 years. We used to share a lot for almost two years, but without any rhyme or reason this person abruptly cut me off her life, which left me puzzled for years. It now appears that she wants to revive the ties. May be eventually I can figure out why she did that! This left me with a kind of afterglow and I was super excited, as I do not like to end friendships in suspense.
I was also mighty pleased. Someone was praising my husband, and someone adored him, and it was all very pleasant bantering around. Someone announced that they found a bride for their son,and the wedding date. We invited a lot of friends to come over , since they had not visited us for years.
It took a long time to calm down and get to sleep.
This morning when I opened the PC , I find scores of mails waiting for me to congratulate my 10000 hits of “My Clutter My life” blog! Indiblogger ,jolted me out of morning grogginess, when suddenly I found my name appearing in “Most Popular Posts”.. Wow Never thought that was possible ever!!!
Later I climb the terrace, and start looking at my rain washed plants and soak into the delights of their response to rain. I keep looking at each plant, plucking extra leaves, or some twigs and vines, I suddenly find this:
Hey.. I am so happy.. So many things happening at the same time.. It makes me immensely happy that at last the Dosakkaya thought it fit to grow to a decent size, restore my faith in Organic Terrace garden. How the plants thrive in the rains.
After breakfast, when all are in a jovial Sunday morning mood, my domestic help, calls me excitedly, and shows me something….at shoulder height, near the gate.
These are the small sparrow like greenish birds, who keep pecking at my pots on the terrace daily. They are so fleeting in their movements, I find it impossible to capture on camera.
It is months since the birds succeeded in making the nest in the compound. We had all those rowdy cats which used to drive those birds away, except on top of high trees. There were two/three small eggs inside, and while were looking delicately from far, we observed the little bird hover around and come back whizzing to inspect whether they are fine! What fun and pleasure!!!
My cup runneth over!!!
Such a delightful post, Pattu! That’s quite a dosakaya! May you continue to have happy moments like these!

You are a living example of-How to find pleasure in ordinary things-but i know how much labor goes into nurturing a garden, therefore joy has to be worked at too;physically as well as mentally!
Thanks Induji, Lovely to get your thoughts on my post.
Joy is something which I am deriving everyday, and feel a sense of loss, as how I missed all those years!
What a lot of happy things to happen all at once. But the most important event of all I think was your reviving your friendships, knowing what a warm person you are. What did you make of the the dosakai? May such happy events follow you all year….
Zephyr, thanks.

Thank you for your warm words. I try to use my time well :).
I love your garden. I am thinking of a green kitchen garden on my open to sky terrace 🙂
Thanks Ghazala,. Of course , when the green garden is ready keep us all posted.
I grew up on paddy farm dung my formative age… worked on paddy farm and vegetable garden, on rented land, and around house, that gave our peasant family livelihood and some cash. Your garden brings me back childhood memories. Well, I raise some plotted plants… (in crowded Mumbai) to revive my spirits.
I think I should make a collection of such bloggers, who actually do such work as you do. And spread the news, so some may be inspired to actually work with soil… ha ha ha !!
Remi, Thanks and welcome to my blog. I too grew up, spending my vacations of formative years, in my granny’s village. They had lands and we enjoyed the free life. I am sorry now that we did not take to farming when we could have! . This is my small satisfaction. I am sure you will be able to help out people in Mumbai with some experience in gardening.
All the best.
Awesome Post! Little Pleasures of life 🙂
Thanks Jaishree.:-)
