Horticulture Expo 2012 – Intipanta group

We Garden enthusiasts of Hyderabad were waiting for the event since one month, yes, our own Horticulture show. Intipanta team was eager to enhance their knowledge of Gardening and meet with the members we knew only by our E-mails.

Luckily , one of Intipanta founder/patron also had a camera person with him and he was kind enough to take pictures of the event.
He also gave us information that the team has been written about in today’s Shakshi newspaper(Telugu). Hey, ways to go Intipanta group.

All the members who could not make it on 26th, we missed them in the photograph.:-)

Now, about the expo:

I thought last year was a better one for Organic Gardeners. The stalls were much less this year, or I have gone on the first day,/ there may be some more on the next few days. Missed catching up with some stalls that were selling quality Cocopeat, seethaphal seeds powder, Pungamia powder , oils etc.

The nurseries were selling plants with higher price tag. the containers too were pricey. I bought only one Dhavanam plant.
I was looking out for this plant since years, and was glad I found one. But this variety is lot more greener, slender and delicate scented , than the ones you get in Chennai. However, what’s in a name, All Dhavanams smell the same:-)

There are still 2 more days to go , may be I will visit again and find some more good plants/organic products.

About gardenerat60

As you guessed, I am a retired executive, looking for hobbies. Stumbled into gardening after reading blogs. Always wanted to use eco-friendly items in daily life. So, there was no heistation in deciding to put the vast terrace balcony to use for organic garden.

Uppalji, Thanks. I have been part of the group for sometime now, but being Hyderabadis, we are not so action oriented.:-). But I like all those people who have become friends.
I am still envious (positively) of those Bangalore groups.

BTW, I am unable to post comments on your blog. I don not know why . I request you to please check your Spam Q, and find out whether my blog is listed there? 😦

Hope you had good time there, yes it is always pricey to buy plants from fest like this.

      Hi Swathi, welcome.
True, not only plants, the allied stuff too. It is one stop shopping. One needs a car and someone to carry the stuff. There were some ladies trying to carry the plants in baskets, but very few. Since it was in Necklace Road, the number of autos plying were lesser and therefore, costlier.
